International Mountain Connection

Increase your comprehension skills by watching videos!

When learning a new language, it’s important to practice listening and comprehension skills. Watching movies and TV shows are an excellent way to improve our level of understanding. Unfortunately, if we need to practice mountain vocabulary, it isn’t always included in these types of videos.

They are short and filled with mountain related vocabulary. You can improve your listening and comprehension skills while listening to someone talk about a mountain sport or activity. And, if you need a little extra help understanding, you can download the transcript or add subtitles.

Let’s be honest! Sometimes life gets crazy. Finding the time and motivation to watch an entire movie can be difficult. Maybe we’re tired and don’t want to concentrate for more than 10-15 minutes. These videos are the perfect solution.

What are transcripts?

A transcript is the script of a video in written form (document). You can read a transcript as you listen to or watch a video. A transcript is available to view and download for each IMC video.

What are subtitles?

Subtitles or captions are the words that appear on a video to show the dialogue (words spoken). You can activate captions when you watch a video on YouTube. All captions for IMC videos are in English.

We hope you enjoy the videos! If you would like to see a video on a particular subject, send us an email. We’d love to hear from you!
