Certificate
For participants who wish to complete an English training program that is either eligible for use with their CPF money or to help in their search for employment (Aide Individuelle à la Formation – Pôle Emploi), it is necessary to take a test at the end of their training. The certificate awarded by taking this test shows the participant’s English proficiency.
As a partner of English 360°, International Mountain Connection proposes their test Communiquer en anglais professionnel (RS6341) to our clients.
The highlights regarding the English 360° test are as follows:
- English 360° is a complete 100% online English language certificate that takes just 45 minutes to complete
- The English 360° Certificate assesses the candidate’s level of English for professional purposes. It is based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR)
- At the end of a vocational training course, the certificate assesses the level of each of the 5 skills that make up the certificate: listening comprehension, reading comprehension, written expression, oral expression (continuous and dialogue):
- Speaking in a professional context (meeting, conversation, telephone conversation, etc.)
- Professional writing (emails, reports, summaries, etc.)
- Understand a conversation in a professional context
- Understand professional documents
- There’s no need to make an appointment or go to an approved centre. The English 360° test can be taken at any time from a computer
- Grading is carried out by native, experienced and certified examiners. The certificate is issued within 24 hours and is valid for 2 years.
Questions
Do I need to sign up for the test?
No. When you sign up for a training that requires taking the English 360 test at the end, IMC signs you up for the test as soon as your training starts. The test will be taken at the end of your training.
When do I take the test?
At the end of your training.
What happens when I take the test?
At the end of your training, you will receive an email that lists recommendations for taking the test and a secure, personalized link to take the test.
You can take the test at any time, no appointment is needed. It will take less than one hour to complete.
There are several sections:
- Oral comprehension (10 – 15 minutes): Listen to audio with native speakers (you can listen to the clip one additional time)
- Written comprehension (10 – 15 minutes): Read various texts and complete exercises to check your comprehension
- Written expression (10 – 15 minutes): Write complete, coherent answers either in American or British English
- Oral expression, both interaction and production (10 – 15 minutes): Speak into your microphone to answer questions spontaniously
An important point to remember – once you give your response, you can not change it!
Are there any tips to help me succeed taking the test?
- Give the most complete answers you can. Remember that the more information you give, the more of a response that can be evaluated by the person evaluating
- Speak clearly, using your best pronunciation. Remember not to speak too fast, with answers that are fluid and well structured.
- Your response time is timed. Watch the clock and make sure you don’t run out of time.
- For your written answers, read them carefully before you send them.
- Be yourself! Using your imagination and being creative is encouraged.
How will I remember all of this information before the test?
There is no need to worry. When you receive your link to take the test, you also receive a Welcome Booklet that gives this information and more.
Inside you will find:
- the opportunity to complete a practice test
- information about the test
- recommendations and rules for taking the test
- equipment needed and anti-cheating measures that are put in place
- ID and room conditions required
